Connection Classes
The CONNECTION Classes will be required to lead a ministry, and the Connect 1 Class is required for membership (though that is not their only purpose.) The ultimate purpose for these classes is to 1) engage with and encourage people to go deeper on their spiritual journey with Jesus, and 2) get them connected to the life of CLC and its Mission and Vision.
1 - CONNECTING WITH COMMUNITY: “I Thought Church Was A Building” - This class is designed to introduce people to what “church” is all about. After all, it’s not just a building...
2 - CONNECTING WITH SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINE: “I Thought Discipline Happened When You Were Bad” - This class is designed to explore the Spiritual Disciplines that are healthy for our growth in Jesus.
3 - CONNECTING WITH MINISTRY* - “I Thought Gifts Were For Birthdays” - This class will help you discover the gifts that God has given each of us. You will explore your individuality in Christ. The curriculum for this Connection Class will be based off of the S.H.A.P.E. Profile, which is a tool for learning more about what you were created to do.
4 - CONNECTING WITH THE MISSIO DEI - “I Thought Missions Were To Africa” - This class is designed to teach you how to develop “Spiritual Friendships” with those who may not necessarily go to church. We live in a world of people who are seeking, how do we connect with them and share our journey together? (S eek out opportunities to get involved. E ngage them where they’re at. R andom acts of kindness (demonstrate). V alue their story. Encourage them on their journey.)
*For people who would like to lead a Ministry Team at CLC, we will require the following class as part of the “CONNECTING WITH MINISTRY” Class:
MINISTRY LEADERSHIP TRAINING - This class is designed to train those interested in leading a Ministry Team. The curriculum will be based off of the Leading From Your Strengths Profile Test and the Uniquely You Profile Test.
